Badam from ₹100 to ₹1750, across the regular, Californian and mamra grades. A good almond has tight skin, an even brown and a flat plump shape - wrinkled skin means it dried too long, and a very pale almond has usually been bleached.
Break one before you buy a kilo: it should snap rather than bend, and the inside should be white and dense. Sold loose by weight, so you can buy 100g and judge it yourself.
